Insulated Glass
Insulated glass is a double or trible glass unit separated by a vacuum or gas filled space. The space in between the glass panes helps reduce heat transfer from the outside to inside of a building, or vice versa, thus reducing the energy needed for cooling or heating. Besides the architectual application, insulated glass units are also used in the manufacturing of freezers. Thickness of the glasses used in insulated glass units can range from 3 mm. to 10 mm. (1/8" to 3/8") or more in special specifications Laminated or tempered glass may also be used as part of the construction.
